IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING THE 2020 SEASON!

2020 Season Modifications a of March 17, 2020

The Board of Directors and staff of the League hope that all of our member clubs players, families, volunteers and staff are well and coping as best as possible with the disruptions being experienced during these difficult times.  We understand that there are many more pressing problems right now than the sponsoring and administration of youth sports programs. It is our hope that everyone maintains the proper perspective at this time.

A thank you goes out to those club leaders who have reached out to Board Members over the past week to share your thoughts and observations regarding your specific situations and how you were approaching your various program offerings.  Your insights have been helpful to the Board as we discussed various alternatives for the 2020 season.

As of today, March 17, 2020, the League will TENTATIVELY plan to proceed with the 2020 season as follows:

1.) The number of games to be played will be reduced from 10 to 8.

2.) League play, which was scheduled to start  the week of May 4, 2020, will now start June 1, 2020.

3.) For all age groups (U8-U19) the final date to reschedule games will be June 20, 2020.

4.) The Roster Freeze date for all age groups (U8-U19) will be June 20, 2020.

5.) The Odenbach Tournament WILL NOT be held this year. The plan is to again hold the event in 2021.

6.) The Board is in discussions regarding possible modifications to 2020 Team Registration Fees.

7.) The March 28, 2020 Alignment Appeal Meeting for U13-U19 teams WILL NOT be conducted in person.

More information on #6 and #7 will be shared as it becomes available.

All of the above actions are based upon the current information available as of March 17, 2020 and upon the hopeful assumption that the schools can reopen on April 20, 2020.  The Board desires to leave clubs enough time before the start of League play to regather teams, hold a proper number of practices, prepare fields and facilities, etc. so as to offer a meaningful program for everyone.

The League will continue to monitor the guidance and directives provided by all civil authorities at the federal and state levels as well as those of the six counties that our member clubs operate within, along with those of the USSF and USYSA.  We ask that you do likewise as we all work together to endure the current trials we are experiencing.
