HEADING IS NOT ALLOWED FROM 12U AND UNDER

For the safety of the 8U-12U teams' players at the Buffalo & Western New York Junior Soccer League:

12U and under NO HEAD BALL.

Whenever the ball strikes a player in the head, the proper restart depends upon whether the player deliberately played the ball with his or her head.  If deliberate, the proper restart is an indirect free kick to the opposing team... If this occurs within the goal area, the indirect free kick should be taken anywhere inside the goal area for the defending team.  For the attacking team, the indirect free kick will be at the outside of the goal area (Top of the 6-yard line).  If the play by the head is deemed inadvertent, "PLAY ON".
